Water Recreation

Catawba County's three lakes and it's location in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains have a strong influence on the County's climate and ambiance.  Enjoy outdoor activities on Lake Hickory, Lake Norman, and Lake Lookout Shoals.  Lake Hickory is a 4,000 acre, full-recreational lake with 115 miles of shoreline and pristine mountain views.  The Catawba River flows through the area, along with several smaller creeks and rivers.

The lakes and rivers bring many opportunities for fishing, rafting, boating, and adventure.  Lake Hickory offers 16 lake access areas and 6 marinas.
