Located in western North Carolina, Catawba County is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Our county is made up of quaint towns, bustling cities, tranquil country side and beautiful lakes.  We have eight unique communities: Brookford, Catawba, Claremont, Conover, Hickory, Long View, Maiden and Newton.

For suggestions of what to do during your stay, please contact or stop by our North Carolina Authorized Visitor's and Relocation Center located within our Chamber building.  One of our staff members will be happy to assist you in planning the perfect getaway or helping you move to the area, making Catawba County your new home.

Located in Hickory's downtown, the "Block" is home to Catawba Science Center, Hickory Choral Society, Hickory Muesum of Art, Patrick Beaver Memorial Library, United Arts Council, and Western Piedmont Symphony.

The United Arts Council of Catawba County is committed to transforming and strengthening the cultural life of our community through grants, marketing, fundraising, advocacy and education.
